CONTROLLERS COMMENTS - Day 2.

With two experienced planners I really had little to do except checking, I didn’t need to lay a hand on the courses. Nothing was vandalised or even just moved; well what would you expect in a secure military training area! The WIM team were very well organised and handled the complexities of the chasing start very well indeed.

We had one single mention of a control box going a bit quiet, but many mentions of the area around control 549, a spur. This was in an area mapped as ‘rough open scattered trees’ which can be misinterpreted as either ‘rough open’ or ‘run’ as you approach the area. Those that were looking for a bit of forest were confused and had to sort things out by relocating, mostly from a nearby stream. Strangely enough no one complained about 542, a large depression, located in the same area.

Thank you all for coming and giving us such a good turnout. – that really does make it all so worth while from the organisers point of view; and I do mean the whole organising team.
