Organiser's Report

With British Long Championships due to take place at Longleat on the 26th it was good to see several members of the Great Britain team at Moors Valley to warm up for their race tomorrow.
Although wet overnight the day dawned cloudy but dry and the courses on offer were fast and furious. Moors Valley is not particularly technical but does have some hilly sections and areas that need careful route choice.

It was pleasing to see an entry overall of 44 with Ifor Powell taking the A course in the impressive time of 42.47 for the straight line course of 11.3K. Emily Benham took second place in 46.38 just beating Alan Hartley by 4 seconds.

On the B Course which was 9.5K straight line Gavin Clegg won in 41.01 just 25 seconds ahead of Stuart Norman with Charlotte Somers-Cocks in third on 45.19.

Thank you to the members of Wimborne Orienteers who turned out and helped on the day and to all the competitors for making it well worth while in putting on the event.
